Daniel Temple, Tier IV Intervention

Hello, My Name Is...

Danny Temple

The Wonder Years

I would like to welcome you to Reeves Rogers Elementary School for the 2015-2016 school year!  I am very excited to work with you and your child/children.

My Family:  My wife Melissa and I live here in Murfreesboro with our two children Luke and Micki, and our dog Ava.  My wife is an Algebra teacher at Blackman Middle School and is working towards her black belt in karate.  In my spare time I enjoy wood working, hiking, photography, and watching old westerns.  Our children enjoy bike riding, swimming, singing, and of course, time on the computer.

Education Background: I graduated with a bachelors degree in University Studies from MTSU and received a masters in Special Education from Lipscomb University.  I love learning and am currently exploring options to further my education.

Teaching Philosophy:   As a Special Education teacher, I consider myself to be a Facilitator of Learning.  My job is to assist students "fill gaps" in their learning.  My primary focus is phonics, fluency, and comprehension.  I use strategies that are data driven and provide explicit and direct instruction.

Classroom Rules:  Because I work with small groups, I only have one classroom rule: Treat others as would want to be treated.  I try to make every situation a "teachable moment" and in doing so, I have very few discipline problems.  With this being said, I do maintain the same classroom rules that most teachers post in their classrooms:

Be respectful
Keep your hands and feet to yourself
Raise your hand and wait to be called on before speaking

If I do encounter a situation with a student on a regular basis I will document my concerns and contact parents for assistance.

Contact Information:  I can be contacted at daniel.temple@cityschools.net .  I will reply to your email on the evening that you emailed me, or call you the following morning.
